BP Update: Well Cap Holding for Now

While not yet claiming victory, BP said it is encouraged that the capped-off well appeared to be holding steady Friday morning, as its engineers and the world watches, waiting to shut off an uncontrolled flow of oil that has been going on for nearly months.
As of the latest update, results indicate that oil is staying inside the cap, rather than escaping through any undiscovered breaches, and that for all intents and purposes the well is secure. Engineers are closely monitoring the pressure building up in the well, which as of 9 a.m. this morning was at 6700 psi.
