Student Poster Winners Announced

IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society has announced the winners of the Student Poster Competition at OCEANS 2011 in Santander Spain. Participants in the competition had conference registration, travel, food and lodging paid for by OES with a grant from the US Office of Naval Research Global. All the participants were recognized Wednesday evening, June 8, at the Gala Event. Presenting the awards were Dr. Ellen S. Livingston, Associate Director, Ocean and Undersea Science, US Office of Naval Research Global; Dr. José Luis Arteche, Chair of the Poster Competition, Dr. Christophe Sintes and Dr. René Garello of Telecom Bretagne.
In First Place is “Near Sea Surface Target Tracking by Extended Kalman Filtering of the GPS reflected Signals” presented by Sarab Tay (France). Second Place is shared by Gregory Julien (France) and Isabel Caballero (Spain). Third Place is shared by: Hector Fabian Guarnizo Mendez (France); Frederico Traverso (Italy); Yanira Guanche (Spain).
