Fog Backs Up Houston Ship Channel


Image: USCG The U.S. Coast Guard said that about 90 vessels were waiting to pass through the Houston and Sabine ship channels this morning. An additional 60 vessels are waiting to enter the Houston ship channel and 10 more and waiting to leave.

The Pilots Association, along with the Coast Guard suspended operations in the channels on December 13th due to heavy fog. Some vessels managed to pass through Thursday during a break in the fog, but the channel was shut down shortly after.
