Hallin Marine Start 2012 with Four New Contracts
02/08/2012
Hallin Marine, a Superior Energy Services company, reports a promising start to the year of the Dragon (2012) with four new contracts. Hallin’s West Division heads into battle in search of unexploded 1939-1945 ordnance off the German coast. A Quasar work-class remotely operated vehicle and team are being provided to support site clearance for a windfarm installation.
For a separate commission, Hallin West has chartered the Stril Explorer to fulfill inspection and intervention operations in the North Sea. The Stril Explorer, a 76-meter dynamically positioned vessel, will form a service base for the operation of a fully mobilized ROV system including Hallin’s Quasar Compact and Seaeye Lynx submersibles.
New contracts won by Hallin’s East Division include a project in the South Mahakam field offshore of Balikpapan, Indonesia. Hallin will provide the SOV Ullswater, it’s dynamically positioned subsea operations vessel with a built-in saturation diving system, along with a construction-class remotely operated vehicle. The scope of work includes flooding and pigging of installed pipelines with treated seawater, subsea spools tie-in work, flange protector installation and riser supports removal as well as performance of ”As-Built” surveys.
Hallin’s Penrith 8,000 brake-horse-power offshore support vessel and Quasar remotely operated vehicle have also been commissioned to support pipeline free-span correction work in the South Mahakham field. “These projects clearly demonstrate Hallin’s ability to deliver high-quality support infrastructure and supporting services on time and on a global basis,” comments John Payne, Hallin Marine’s Group Business Development Director. “They also reflect healthy and sustained demand both for traditional fuels and for renewable energy. This is an excellent start to 2012.”
