EnerMech Completes MEGI Decommissioning Project

Image: EnerMech EnerMech has completed a project on the Mobil Equatorial Guinea Inc (MEGI) gas lift line replacement project on behalf of Subsea 7. The four-month work scope included the decommissioning and pre-commissioning of four subsea gas lift systems from the ExxonMobil assets, Zafiro Producer FPSO and the Jade Platform. Services provided included hydrotesting, flooding, nitrogen purging, dewatering, methanol pumping and degassing. The range of EnerMech equipment available, speed of mobilization, deployment of labor and cost efficiency were all factors in being awarded the work. EnerMech said the value to the end-client was increased gas lift output, resulting in greater production capacity, an increase asset life expectancy and a change in the subsea architectures allowing subsea tie-back options when the FPSO is removed from operations.
